Bordeaux AG2R La Mondiale half marathon 2026: elevation profile, climbs and gradients
Half marathon in Bordeaux on 8 November 2026: 21.1 km with 98 m of climbing and 103 m of descent, according to the course published by the organiser. Here is where it climbs, how steep, and where the race is decided.
The profile
The three numbers to read first
- 4.6 metres climbed per km. Flat course: pacing is about the wind and the crowd, not the hills.
- Where the climbing sits. No climb worth the name: the biggest one gains 16 m. Pacing is about the wind, the crowd and the water stations, not the hills.
- The steepest 100 m. The steepest 100 m are at km 5.2, at +8.2 %: short and sharp, do not attack it.

The sections that matter
Sections longer than 200 m at 2 % or more, or with at least 10 m of elevation change. Everything else is flat or false flat. Max = the steepest 100 m of the section.
| Where | What | Length | Altitude | Avg | Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| km 5.2 → 5.55 → 21 m | climb | 350 m | 5 → 21 m | +4.6 % | +8.2 % |
| km 6.5 → 6.916 → 26 m | climb | 360 m | 16 → 26 m | +2.8 % | +3.0 % |
| km 7.2 → 7.725 → 16 m | descent | 480 m | 25 → 16 m | -2.0 % | -3.6 % |
The steepest stretches
-3.6 % · at km 7.2steepest descent over 100 m
-2.9 % · at km 7.2steepest descent over 250 m
-2.1 % · at km 7.1steepest descent over 500 m
-1.3 % · at km 8.4steepest descent over 1000 m
Where the numbers come from
The course is the GPX file published by the organiser on its website. Altigraph shows the computed profile and links to the original page; the file itself is not redistributed.
No official climbing figure was found on the organiser's website; the 98 m above are computed by Altigraph after smoothing the altitude over 50 m, which removes GPS jitter. Adding up every rise of the same track without any smoothing gives 124 m: that raw sum is usually the figure race brochures quote.
Method: the track is resampled every 10 m, altitude is smoothed over 50 m either side, the local gradient is measured over 100 m, then the course is cut into climbs (over 1.5 %), descents (under -1.5 %) and flat parts. The thresholds are the same as on the home page.
